Patrick founded Breakaway Financial Group LLC in the fall of 2016. At the time, he had been in the industry for four years after he retired from an 18-year professional hockey career. His goal is to build the firm he wished he could have found in his early 20s. As a young athlete, he was fortunate to find success and he knew he needed financial advice to ensure that he makes the most out of his money. However, he felt disappointed by the scope of work the advisors that were referred to him were performing. He knew that he needed much more help than investment management advice. He needed a financial planner and coach to help him take care of his family financially for decades to come.
Patrick was born in Montreal, Canada. He has 2 sons, Blake and Max. His wife Danielle is a local realtor. Patrick and his family live in Mount Pleasant. He likes to golf and enjoying a good meal with family and friends.
Patrick and his family moved to Charleston in the summer of 2013. They plan to continue to dig strong roots in our community.
Patrick is Breakaway Financial Group’s Lead Planner. He earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2017. Since then he has continued to accumulate an education around what he feels are the things that his clients need: Tax planning and Maximizing Business growth.
He has earned the Enrolled Agent designation which allows him to represent clients with their tax concerns. He is also a Certified Exit Planner which enables him to guide our clients to maximize the value of their business.
He also has a deep passion for helping everyone in our community get proper financial education and advice. He has a goal to continue to create his vision.
